After the Christmas break our meetings started with “Far Below the Sea Blooms”. Our President, Mrs Ann Allan, was one of the SAFAS team who won a gold medal on behalf of NAFAS at the 2013 Chelsea Flower Show. Over the past two years Ann kept us up to date with the ideas being developed for the exhibit and how it was progressing but tonight we heard the full story of the journey from the initial concept through to Chelsea week itself. In a fascinating talk illustrated with slides and examples of the materials used at the Show, Ann kept us enthralled with her story of the trials and tribulations, and the “fun and friendship” that the experience had brought her.
